"Beauty Sleep Interrupted: How I Rescued My Skin with a Simple Nightly Ritual"

Friends, We got to talk! It's time we discuss the effects of sleep deprivation on our skin. Let's get real – we've all been there. The restless nights, the tossing, the turning. The Netflix series binge. Trust me I get it. But what we might not realize is how it wreaks havoc on our skin. From those pesky ojeras to the dulling of our natural glow, lack of sleep can make our complexion look like that of the dead and that's not cute or on brand unless it's Dia De los Muertos.

Ever heard the saying "beauty sleep"? Turns out, it's not just a phrase.While our bodies undergo recovery at night, they also lose moisture. When we compromise on sleep, our skin bears the consequences.  If you're not getting adequate rest at night, it's essential to reassess your routine and give importance to your "beauty sleep."In the pursuit of better sleep, I decided to create a nightly ritual, a gentle nudge to tell my body it's time to unwind. 

As part of my commitment to wellness, I've set a goal to be in bed by 10 pm on weeknights and Sundays. I'll discuss more about this at a later time. 

Commencing my nightly ritual, I begin with a soothing shower, followed by my nightly skincare routine, I gently massage a few drops of Guau Glow Face Oil onto my wet skin to lock in hydration. I always accompany my skincare routine with a refreshing glass of water. If I don't do this, I always wake up parched and with dry lips. (If you tend to wake up during the night, consider doing this earlier in your evening.)
